I’m so excited that my search for the best cash envelope wallet has finally come to an end.

I’ve been searching for the perfect cash budget wallet for a few months now.

I tried hard and failed at bringing my cash around in envelopes, little baggies from the bank, and even using the cash section of my old wallet to divvy up my cash reserves. Nothing worked.

I knew I didn’t want to give up on cash envelope budgeting. I just needed a cash system wallet – something specially designed for cash budgeting. I ended up choosing the Bella Taylor Cash System wallet and I LOVE it.

I did a LOT of research on the best wallet for cash budgeting, so I wanted to share my findings with you.

If you’re on the hunt for the perfect envelope budgeting system wallet, keep reading.

Or if you’re really pushed for time, check out my top pick: the Bella Taylor Cash System Wallet. You can find it on Amazon here.

Best Cash Envelope Wallets for Next-Level Cash Budgeting

1. Bella Taylor Cash System Wallet

The Bella Taylor Cash System wallet has two compartments. One has 6 card pockets, 2 ID pockets (with clear windows) and two wider pockets for receipts, notes etc.

There’s also a pen loop and a checkbook slot in the main compartment.

The second (zipped) compartment is where this envelope system wallet really proves it’s worth. This area contains 8 sections to assign envelope system categories. 6 of these sections can be labelled. This section is also where the zippered coin purse sits.

The wallet is fastened with a pewter turn-lock fastener.

I chose the Bella Taylor wallet because it looks great, is large and the two compartments allow me to keep the envelope style wallet closed (and away from prying eyes) when I’m standing in line at the grocery store.

Dimensions: 8 x 4.4 x 1.4 inches

  • 18 different styles to choose from so you can find the perfect envelope budget wallet for you
  • Zip close coin purse on the inside to keep coins doubly secure
  • My Samsung Galaxy J5 easily fits inside the cash envelope area.
  • It has a spot to hold a pen

  • The dividers are not sewn all the way to the bottom, so if you separate coins this way they will probably get mixed up.
  • Some users may need more than 8 slots for their cash budget.
  • It’s made of quilted cotton, so it may get dirty.

Even though I’ve always had leather wallets (read expensive, designer) I still think this wallet looks great and I’m excited to see how it changes my spending.

2. The Great Divide – Divvy Up

The Great Divide cash envelope system wallet by Divvy Up gives slightly more flexibility in use with its magnetic envelope inserts.

This envelope budgeting system wallet can hold up to 12 debit or credit cards, has a zippered coin pouch in the center and two extra storage pockets for receipts, coupons, notes etc.

The Great Divide comes with five cash envelopes, and you can buy extras in sets of five or individually.

You can use as many of the magnetic envelopes as you need. Each comes in a different color for easy recognition. There are also 12 blank adhesive labels so you can tailor the cash envelope system wallet to your exact categories.

This is great if you have quirky or unique envelope system categories (as most of us do).

Product dimension: 8.5 x 1 x 4.5 inches with the envelopes measuring 7.5 x 3.5 inches.

  • High-end look
  • Can be switched to a regular wallet if you ever decide to stop cash envelope budgeting
  • Magnetic closures keep cash secure

  • Only two styles to choose from
  • Some reviewers have noted the tan color is more peachy/orange than tan
  • Reviews have noted problems with the zippers

3. The Savvy Spender – Large Foldover Budgeting Clutch Wallet

The foldover budgeting clutch by Divvy Up works in the same manner as the Great Divide but slightly larger so you can carry your phone.

It’s a foldover design and has loads of storage with 12 card slots, 2 long pockets, a zippered pouch for coins or valuables, and a slot for your envelopes (of course).

The design is feminine in black and pink, with the magnetic envelopes in shades of grey and pink.

Dimensions: 8.5 x 5.25 x 1.5 inches with envelopes measuring 7.5 x 3.5 inches

  • Big enough to hold everything you need

  • The back and pink design might limit the customer base slightly

4. SavvyCents Wallet

The Savvy Cents wallet was a strong contender in my search for the perfect cash envelope purse. It’s similarly priced to the Bella Taylor, and also comes in a range of designs.

The main difference is that the SavvyCents wallet has one enclosure for cards and cash, and an outer facing coin purse. This means you have to open up your entire wallet to access cards or cash.

As cash budgeters we probably carry more cash than others, so this could be a make or break for you (it was for me).

There are also only five sections for your cash budget.

This would be fine for me but if you have more categories in your cash budget the SavvyCents will just end up annoying you.

Tip: reviewers have noted the faux leather isn’t very durable, so opt for the patent leather if you’re looking for something that lasts.

Dimensions: 8 x 1 x 4 inches

  • Comes with a wristlet for easy transition to purse
  • Some of the designs look very high-end

  • Some reviewers remarked the card slots seem small
  • Faux leather can be quick to flake

5. ThriftyZippers Men’s Bifold Envelope System Wallet

Finding a decent men’s envelope wallet is HARD! I feel for the guys amongst us who are working the cash envelope budgeting system and struggling with envelopes.

This Men’s Bifold Envelope System Wallet is really the only bifold wallet with multiple cash pockets I could find.

It’s made of ripstop nylon which feels just like paper, causing some reviewers to believe it felt cheap, BUT that is not the case. Ripstop nylon allows this thin wallet to have multiple compartments and not be bulky.

  • It’s compact

  • No coin storage

In my opinion, the best wallet for envelope system budgeting is the Bella Taylor Cash System.
